Engagement photos can
be a fun way to mark your engagement. As with wedding pictures, there
are many ways to have your pictures done for an engagement. You can
have a portrait done by a professional photographer, or, as many couples
are beginning to do, have a friend take over the photography with a digital
camera. With the technological advances, it is possible to get good
photos with a digital camera. Plus, you can look at your engagement
photos and decide which you like best immediately, allowing you to
re-shoot any shots that you did not like.
The engagement photo
Some couples
choose not to have an engagement
photo, but instead wait to have
wedding pictures. This is a small minority, as many people choose
to have their engagement pictures used as part of the announcements.
Some have the engagement photographs done professionally, as a
portrait, while others have their friends take the pictures. Either
way, an engagement photo can be a nice thing to have to complement
wedding pictures. They can be set up at the reception, along with
pictures of the couple at other stages of the relationship, and
they can be put into a scrapbook or photo album and look very attractive,
showing a specific stage in a couple’s
life together.
For many couples, the digital option is becoming more palatable.
They can make their own invitations using the computer, and much
of the time they come out very well. Additionally, some couples have
started putting together wedding sites on the Internet. Digital photos
are easy to upload onto the site in order to show people what is
happening during the planning process. It is important to note, however,
that doing your own photos is not the only way to get digital copies.
Many professional photographers are starting to offer your pictures
in digital format, on a CD, so that you can them home and print extra
copies or put them on a Web site. You can check with whomever will
be taking your pictures to be sure. After all, you should have options
when it comes to your engagement photos.
