An engagement photo
freezes the happiest moment of your life forever. You can go back to
an engagement photo and relive, again and again, the wonderful day
you decided to get married and share your life with the man, or woman,
of your dreams. (And if you ever do divorce, cutting it into little
pieces is therapeutic.)
Engaging memories
Remember that
sepia-tinged black and white engagement portrait and the frayed
wedding pictures your grandmother displayed proudly in the sitting
room? The ones where you could hardly relate the dark-haired, bright-eyed
young girl in the picture poses with the frail, white-haired gran you
know. Remember how you couldn’t really
believe the handsome young buck next to her was your long-dead
grandfather? Remember how you giggled at the way they were dressed?
One day your children and grandchildren will look unbelievingly
at pictures of you and your fiancé, so, when you have
your engagement pictures taken and later down the line your
wedding pictures, make it your best shot.
An engagement photo freezes the moment
If you hire someone
to take your engagement photography, perhaps at an engagement party,
it is important to choose somebody reliable and professional and
to make sure that you agree on a fixed price before he or she starts
shooting … the camera, that is. Most professional
photographers work for a set fee for a number of hours or set number
of spools. Alternatively, you can ask a family member or close friend
to take your engagement photos for you. This might also be a good
time to consider a digital camera – with a digital camera
it is easy to select the pictures you want to keep and delete
those that make you look old, fat or ugly. You can store the
picture s on computer and print copies whenever you like.
Portrait perfect
If you want
photographs taken at your engagement party, bear in mind this does
mean the photographer won’t get much
time to enjoy themselves. If you’re not one that’s
much into photographs and being constantly snapped, perhaps
you and your fiancé can
go to a photo studio instead and have a special engagement
portrait taken. At a studio, the photographer will make sure
you and your fiancé are pictured, if you’ll
excuse the pun, in the best possible light. When memories
have faded, at least you’ll still have
your first engagement photo.
